About Me...

My name is Tracy McKay, I am 55 years old. I have been married for 35 years to my wonderful husband Darryl McKay.  We have been blessed with three children; Chris, Chantelle and Nicholle, along with 11 grandchildren. My husband came home with a puppy 17 years ago. Not a small puppy, but a really, big puppy. To say the least, I was not happy. I wanted my husband to take the puppy back. Our life was already hectic, very busy as we both worked full time, had 3 teenagers plus we lived in the city. We’ve always had a dog, however; they were small city dogs not large farm dogs. With lots of arguing over reasons why we shouldn’t keep this big farm puppy, I can happily say, I lost the battle!

We named our “big puppy” Nikko and my love of large breed Golden Retrievers began.

Nikko taught me unconditional love, loyalty and how to enjoy each moment. He was my special boy!! I had the privilege of loving him for 12 precious years.

But as all dog lovers know, one dog is never enough. Nikko needed a friend, so I got him a friend named Zoey. She was the sweetest girl. She eventually had 2 litters of pups from which we kept miss Mya, a darling girl. My pack was complete! These dogs were my world. They helped me so much with the transition when my children moved out.

Through all of life’s struggles, they were my constant companions. Never wanting more than I could give and showing me how to enjoy absolutely everything and live in the moment. These dogs are so in tune with your feelings. They know when your happy, sad, stressed, excited, sick and they act accordingly. They can give you what you need at that moment and this is why they make such good therapy dogs.

But just like humans, dogs can get sick. However, I lost my sweet Zoey at the age of 10. We were out on our daily walk, enjoying the beauty of nature when we lost her so she passed doing what she loved most. Then, only 10 months later, my girl Mya passed. My Nikko was so sad, he missed his girls so much and I swore I would never get another, because it was so hard to lose them. But then, I found my beautiful laid-back girl named Willow and she helped to mend our broken hearts.

While searching for Willow, I came across a breeder who breeds doodles. I fell in love with her beautiful, non shedding, doodle puppies, but I was concerned with adopting a mixed breed dog. My heart was still sore from losing two dogs two cancer and I couldn’t take in a dog with health concerns. I did a lot of research and discovered that, when done right, cross breeding can produce very healthy dogs. With that knowledge, I became a guardian home to an English cream Teddy Bear Doodle who I named Saje. She is 35 pounds of adorable, retriever personality and runs the show like a boss.

My first litter of puppies came from Willow. She had the most beautiful, laid-back puppies, who brought so much happiness and joy to their new families. At first it was hard to let them go but seeing the happiness they brought to their families and knowing they were going to wonderful homes made it easier.

It was then that I made the decision that I wanted to breed healthy, happy, loving, well-adjusted, laid-back puppies. Puppies who would bring joy and comfort to the right families.

In the spring of 2021, my husband and I bought a lovely property along with my daughter and her family. It sits just outside of Lacombe and minutes to Gull Lake. Here I can pursue my dream of raising beautiful healthy family members for the right families to love.
